Blue Water Cafe

28 South Steyne, MANLY NSW 2095

After an early morning sunrise shoot, & a jog up & down manly beach - we searched for a place to eat & picked out this simple yet inviting cafe.

I really liked the clear roofs outside, even though the sun was shining in to the front of the shop - even if you sat inside you'd feel the warm sun as you sat & relaxed - it just made the whole place look so shiny, clean & warm.

Look at that dude munching away on his toast LoLs :)

They were quick to take our order of drinks, & supplied a bottle of table water for us.

Shortly after they arrived with some butter, apricot jam & strawberry jam - what were we supposed to eat this with - our food didn't come out till 10 minutes later! I still picked at the jam i love anything sweet hehe

I ordered this deliciously fresh juice of orange, grapefruit, lime & cranberry - it was SO refreshing i took my time drinking this & waited for our breakkie to come (i got it all to myself because Rick can't have anything citrus-ey..

I ordered the grilled mushroom & cheese with pine nuts, served with sourdough toast, grilled tomatoes & i asked for two hashbrowns ^.^

Now the last time i had mushroom like this - was at Hurricanes in Bondi- & it seriously put me off large portobello mushrooms. It was still raw, tasteless in the middle, had a layer of some chickpea stuff on it - i hardly ate even a quarter of it & just finished off my salad and chips!

This mushroom though, it was really tender & moist, with the right amount of melted cheese on top, it was also smeared with pesto so that brought some nice flavours along in my mouth, and the pinenuts - cute little things i collected into a pile, and gave it to Rick in the end :)

Rick ordered the bacon sausage eggs & mushrooms served with gluten free toast - this was the only place along the strip that offered gluten free toast - so this is probably why we ended up here.

His mushrooms looked like they were sautéed in butter and had herbs sprinkled on top (i likey!) He said his eggs were cooked they way he liked it (sunny side up, and poached, with runny yolks), & his bacon with crisp without the extra oil dripping off it.

Located right across from the waves & sands of Manly beach, this is a Great place to have breakkie & relax, the food servings were very generous (i had trouble finishing mine). The staff are very friendly & attentive, the next time i come up to stay at the Bear Cottage i will probably come here again :)

Gotta love a good brekkie. The mushroom sounds delicious and it's good that they offer gluten free options. What a gorgeous sunrise, great shot!
